Nobody at Legitkit holds a practising certificate. We do not give legal advice, we do not review your specific situation, and nothing on this site or in any email from us should be read as advice about what you should do. Under the Legal Profession Uniform Law only a qualified lawyer can give legal advice, and we are careful not to.

What a template can and cannot do

A template gives you a sound starting point written for the ordinary run of Australian small businesses. It cannot know the facts of your deal, the other party, the rules your state sets for your trade, or what a court would make of your situation. If money, a lease, a licence, an employee, or a regulator is involved and the stakes are high, see a lawyer. We say so on the document page when a document is not enough.

Checker results

The checker results are a checklist of clauses commonly found in a document of that type and whether we could find them in yours. It is not an opinion on whether your document is enforceable. It is a prompt for what to ask about.

Law changes

Every document shows a version number and a date. The law may change after that date. We update documents and email buyers when we do, but the responsibility to use the current version is yours.
